In the division 1 of the Cambs league, Risbygate men’s first team were crowned champions for the second year running. A feat never achieved before by the club. This team has grown and support young talented tennis players coming up through to club who are able to compete at this exceptionally high level. Players who represented the team included – Asa Sumner-Keens (Capt.), Seth Newman, Christof Schaertlin-Coffey, Fred Clark, Orry Farnworth, Luca Shamsi.
Risbygate men’s second team finished fourth in division 2 of the Cambs League. The team worked hard for this season, hoping for promotion to division 1. They were competitive throughout the league but were up against tough competition. Players included Thomas Taylor, Robi, Sam Radcliffe and Fred Clark.
Risbygate men’s third team plays Cambs division 11 and are currently second in the league with two matches to play.Players representing the team include Nick Jeffries, Iggi, John Ferguson, Stuart Lee, Dave Leeson, Derek Bourke, Luke McGhee, Jason Weston, Rory Dale – all playing great tennis and enjoying the friendly nature of this league!
In Cambs Ladies Division 1, Risbygate Ladies first team have fought hard but finished in 8th place. This means demotion to division 2 for the 2024 season. Risbygate players representing our ladies 1st team included Jo Harpur, Salome Smit, Gail Corcoran (Capt.) and Sarah Wells.
In Cambs Ladies Division 4, Risbygate ladies second team have also completed the league in 7th place out of 8 teams.
Risbygate continues to complete in the summer months in the Norfolk and Suffolk Leagues. Results will be reported later in the season.
