A genteel sport, ideal for those lazy, hazy, summer evenings.The concept is similar to bowls with metal boules rolled or tossed to the jack.We have a new shingled terrain with pavilion and floodlighting.
We have an established Petanque section at the Risbygate Sports Club, with a teams competing in both the Newmarket and the Bury District leagues, on Monday and Wednesday nights respectively, throughout the Summer season.
The popularity of the sport, which can played by all ages and physiques, has resulted in a pleasing increase in our membership recently. This has justified the construction of a larger Terrain (playing area) with a pavilion and toilets adjacent.
The Club has Bar and Kitchen facilities, together with the opportunity to view and maybe sample the other sports available. We are always seeking to grow our section, so if you would like to form a team for league games or maybe just join for a friendly game, please contact us to discuss membership and any other queries you may have.

How To Join
If you want to try a sport or activity at Risbygate Sports Club, and come along for a taster session, please contact the office on 01284 755468 or email info@risbygatesportsclub.co.uk and we will put you in touch with the relevant Sports Section Secretary to arrange a visit and give more information.
If you are interested in membership for a particular sport (or sports), you can either download and complete our Membership Form or contact us by email, phone (01284 755468) or visit the club’s office, which is open weekday mornings. We will be very happy to show you around the club, and/or any particular section you are interested in.
PLEASE NOTE
The Racket Sports and Outdoor Bowls membership subscription year runs from 1st April till 30th March. Indoor Bowls and Social/Petanque subscriptions run from 1st September until 31st August. Pro rata subscription rates apply if you join inbetween subscription periods.
