Get Fit, Meet Friends, Have Fun!
Tennis@Risbygate Sports Club
Tennis is a great way to meet people and get fit while having fun, so why not pop along and give us a try? We are a very friendly, active tennis club and we welcome players of all ages and abilities. Non-members are also welcome (see under Public Access below).
There are currently four hard courts playable throughout the year, two of which are floodlit. Grant applications permitting, we are hoping to extend this to five courts with four being floodlit. This would allow us to increase access for non-members, accommodate more players on winter evenings and to significantly extend our coaching provision. We also offer excellent changing facilities, a bar, and a refurbished Club House.
The Club is affiliated to the LTA and plays competitive matches in the Cambridgeshire and Norfolk & Suffolk Leagues. We also enter teams into the LTA Team Tennis competitions (now renamed National Leagues). For full details, please click on the TEAM TENNIS tab.
Every year, we organise our own tournaments at both junior and senior levels, and the Club hosts monthly junior LTA tournaments too.
Public Access
Non-members are welcome to use the tennis courts between 12 midday and 2pm on all weekdays (at your own risk). The cost is £10 per court per hour.
Please call or email the Tennis Secretary (see opposite) to book a court (we plan to automate this process in due course).
General enquiries can also be made to the office on 01284 755468 or by email admin@risbygatesportsclub.co.uk.
Tennis Membership
New members can join at any time and will be given a warm welcome. Courts are available for play from 7.30am (8.00am in winter) to 10pm (floodlights cost extra) and there are six Club sessions a week when you can just turn up and play and balls are provided by the Club. For details of these sessions, click on the SOCIAL TENNIS tab.
For details of membership fees and to download an application form, please click on MEMBERSHIP from the main menu. For more details about the Tennis Section click on the INFORMATION tab above.
“It really is a club for a lifetime! I first joined in the 1970s, played in the teams in the 80s, supported my children through the Club coaching programmes in the 90s and now play social tennis and give something back by serving on the committee.”
