About Us

Risbygate Sports Club is located on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, an ancient market town in the county of Suffolk, which is famed for its beautiful Abbey Gardens and Cathedral.

The club is run by a management committee comprising representatives drawn from each of the seven sections. It has approximately 800 members who are able to enjoy various sporting and social activities and who hold a variety of fund-raising events throughout the year, supporting the local St Nicholas Hospice and McMillan Cancer Relief.

Externally the site has one bowling green, four tennis courts and a practice court, an area for petanque and a large car park.

Internally there is a four rink bowling green, two squash courts, changing rooms and shower facilities. The clubhouse has a coffee machine, vibrant bar and lounge area, and function rooms available for hire by organisations or individuals for meetings, wedding receptions, parties etc.

Members of more than one section receive a 10% discount when they join any of the other sections.  We also have two table tennis tables (a club meets on a Monday morning for £1) and a darts board, the use of which are free.
